On February 12, 2025, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Zhang Xiaoqiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Lanzhou Municipal Committee. The two sides held discussions on further strengthening cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments. Zhu Kebing, Party Group Member and Senior Vice President of China Minmetals, and Ruan Qiang, Vice Mayor of Lanzhou, also attended the meeting. 

Chen Dexin extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Zhang Xiaoqiang. He said that after more than 70 years of transformation and development, China Minmetals had successfully evolved from its early beginnings as a foreign trade enterprise into a global leader in the metals and minerals industry. The company now has a business system mainly composed of metals & minerals, metallurgical construction, high-tech industry, trade & logistics, and finance & real estate. With 38 domestic and overseas mines, it now enjoys a strong integrated advantage across the whole industry chain in the metals and minerals industry. Recently, the joint establishment of China Salt Lake Group by China Minmetals and Qinghai Province was successfully launched, expanding the company's resource portfolio. The newly established group will become an important pillar in China Minmetals' modern industrial system. In recent years, China Minmetals has maintained close and fruitful cooperation with Gansu Province and Lanzhou City. With Lanzhou's favorable business environment and strong development momentum considered, Chen hoped that both sides would enhance communication and collaboration, and further deepen pragmatic cooperation in areas such as non-ferrous metals, technological innovation, new energy materials, infrastructure, and trade & logistics, achieving win-win development from mutual benefit. 

Zhang Xiaoqiang said that in recent years, Lanzhou had been advancing its "Developing the Provincial Capital" Initiative, reinforcing the foundation for high-quality development and sparing no efforts to build a beautiful, modern Lanzhou. As a national comprehensive transportation hub, Lanzhou enjoys a favorable business environment and vast development prospects. With a good foundation of cooperation with China Minmetals, Zhang expressed hope that both sides would leverage their respective strengths, strengthen strategic communication, and enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in fields such as technological innovation, non-ferrous metal development, new energy materials, and trade & logistics. Lanzhou will continue to provide high-quality services for the high-quality development of China Minmetals' subsidiaries in Lanzhou. 

The meeting was also attended by relevant officials from Lanzhou and leaders of China Minmetals' head offices and directly-managed enterprises.
