On February 20, 2025, a meeting was held by China Minmetals and the delegation from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Gansu Provincial Government ("Gansu Provincial SASAC" for short) in Beijing. Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, and Wu Wanhua, Secretary and Director of the Party Committee of Gansu Provincial SASAC, exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation. The meeting was also attended by Zhu Kebing and Xu Jiqing, both Party Group Members and Senior Vice Presidents of China Minmetals, and Zhang Zhengzhan, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of Gansu Provincial SASAC.
Chen Dexin welcomed the delegation led by Wu Wanhua. Chen highlighted China Minmetals' transformation & development since its establishment in 1950. He said that after more than 70 years of development, China Minmetals had successfully evolved from its early beginnings as a foreign trade enterprise into a globally influential powerhouse in the metals and minerals industry. He also noted that the company had formed a business system mainly composed of metals & minerals, metallurgical construction, high-tech industry, trade & logistics, and finance & real estate. Recently, significant achievements have made by China Minmetals in terms of the specific measures to fulfill the original mission of "serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry", realizing the stable & prosperous development of its business. Specifically, the joint establishment of China Salt Lake Group by China Minmetals and Qinghai Province was successfully launched. MMG Limited, a subsidiary of China Minmetals acquired Brazilian Nickel Limited. In advancing high-quality development, China Minmetals has always maintained pragmatic and close cooperation with the Gansu Provincial SASAC, achieving significant cooperation results in multiple fields and industries. He hoped to further strengthen communication and coordination with the Gansu Provincial SASAC and excellent Gansu state-owned enterprises, enhance cooperation in mineral resources, supply chain, engineering construction, industrial research and other fields, and improve cooperation quality and efficiency, for the purpose of jointly paving a solid path for win-win cooperation.
Wu Wanhua thanked China Minmetals for its longstanding support to the high-quality development of the Gansu Provincial SASAC. He highlighted Gansu Province's strengths, including its comprehensive industrial system, robust transportation infrastructure, and favorable business environment, as well as its unique advantages in specialty industries such as non-ferrous metals, metallurgy, coal, pharmaceuticals, and tourism. In recent years, Gansu state-owned enterprises have persisted in deepening reforms and accelerating transformation & development. Wu emphasized the aspiration to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation with China Minmetals on the foundation of existing collaboration, aiming to scale up industrial capabilities and overcome developmental bottlenecks. The Gansu Provincial SASAC pledged ongoing efforts to create enabling conditions, coordinate resources, and enhance service support to foster more substantial outcomes in bilateral cooperation.
Attendees included the relevant personnel from Jinchuan Group Co., Ltd., JISCO, China Silver Group, Gansu Logistics Group, Gansu Electrical Equipment Group Co., Ltd., and China Minmetals.
