Chen Dexin, Hu Changsheng, and Ren Zhenhe attend the signing ceremony and have a discussion
On March 12, 2025, China Minmetals and the People's Government of Gansu Province signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing. The ceremony was attended by Chen Dexin (Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals), Hu Changsheng (Secretary of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee, and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress), and Ren Zhenhe (Deputy Secretary of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and Governor of Gansu Province). The attendees included Cheng Xiaobo (Executive Vice Governor of Gansu Province), Lei Siwei (Vice Governor of Gansu Province), and Zhang Weiwen (Secretary-General of the People's Government of Gansu Province), as well as leaders of China Minmetals: Wang Jiezhi, Zhu Kebing, Chen Jianguang, Zhang Zhenmin, Tian Wei, Wang Xingquan, and Xu Jiqing.
Hu Changsheng expressed gratitude to China Minmetals for its longstanding support of Gansu Province's economic and social development. He noted that Gansu has a comprehensive industrial system, solid industrial foundations, abundant energy resources, and robust development momentum. In recent years, the province has been actively advancing new-type industrialization, developing new quality productive forces tailored to local conditions, and building a modern industrial system that capitalizes on Gansu's unique strengths. Highlighting the strategic partnership between China Minmetals and Gansu, which is built on mutual trust and shared success, Hu proposed deepening collaboration in mineral resource development, new energy & new materials, industrial collaboration, capital investment, and talent exchange. Gansu will continue optimizing its business climate and strengthening service guarantees to facilitate China Minmetals' operations in the province, creating opportunities for mutual growth and a prosperous future.
Ren Zhenhe stated that, as a major province for resources, materials, and smelting, Gansu has unique advantages and great development potential. Looking ahead, Gansu will broaden cooperation areas and boost collaboration efficiency with China Minmetals, jointly contributing to national strategic development goals.
Chen Dexin extended warm welcome to Hu Changsheng, Ren Zhenhe and their delegation, expressing appreciation for the consistent support from the Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Gansu Province. Chen Dexin stated that over its 75-year development, China Minmetals has transformed from a specialized foreign trade entity into a globally competitive metals and mining conglomerate. It has a diversified business portfolio covering metals & minerals, metallurgical engineering, technology development, trade & logistics, financial services and real estate, with a global presence in over 60 countries and regions. Emphasizing the profound cooperative history between China Minmetals and Gansu, Chen noted their business structures and development strategies are highly aligned. The Corporation will leverage its core strengths in synergy with Gansu's unique advantages through this strategic signing. It will intensify collaboration in mineral exploration, technological innovation, supply chain resilience, engineering construction, and talent cultivation to establish new benchmarks for high-quality collaborative development.
Chen Dexin and Ren Zhenhe signed the strategic cooperation agreement representing China Minmetals and the People's Government of Gansu Province respectively. Subsidiary agreements were concluded between China Minmetals and Jinchuan Group Co., Ltd / JISCO, with Minmetals Development Co., Ltd. partnering Gansu Logistics Group. The comprehensive cooperation framework will promote the implementation of national strategies, including ecological conservation and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, as well as the large-scale development of western China in the new era.
Participants also included the relevant leaders of Gansu Province, as well as leaders from China Minmetals' head offices and affiliated enterprises.
