On March 12, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, held talks with Peng Huagang, President of China Enterprise Reform and Development Society (CERDS), exchanging views on deepening collaboration. Attending the meeting were Liu Mingzhong and Fan Jianlin, Vice Chairmen of CERDS, Tan Jian, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CERDS, and Wang Jiezhi, Deputy Party Group Secretary and member of the Board of Directors of China Minmetals.
Chen Dexin welcomed the delegation, stating China Minmetals has earnestly implemented the General Secretary Xi Jinping's instructions on SOE reform and Party building. The Corporation actively fulfills the "three roles" of central SOEs - technological innovation, industrial control and safety support - with a business portfolio that encompasses metals & minerals, metallurgical engineering, technology development, trade & logistics, financial services and real estate. In recent years, China Minmetals has concentrated on stabilizing growth, driving innovation, strengthening industries, advancing reforms, preventing risks, ensuring safety, and consolidating core businesses through resource integration. It has made remarkable progress in influential projects like the Las Bambas copper mine in Peru, and advanced sustainable development and ESG initiatives. Chen proposed enhanced collaboration in joint research, sustainable development practices, and ESG system development to achieve synergistic growth.
Wang Jiezhi briefed the delegation on the Corporation's sustainable development, ESG governance framework and progress, emphasizing continuous improvement in sustainability performance and balanced development across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
Peng Huagang stated that CERDS is a national first-level social organization approved by the State Council and registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs. It aims to become an influential think tank in enterprise reform and development. In recent years, CERDS has focused on key, trending, and challenging issues in this field. It has developed a business framework with research at its core and Party building as well as ESG initiatives as supporting pillars, providing all-round and in-depth services to foster enterprise innovation. He expressed hope that both parties would enhance collaboration in sustainable development, ESG practices, research projects, and Party building training to jointly advance high-quality sustainable development.
Attendees from China Minmetals included Wang Xiaorong, Wang Wenhai, Cheng Dongbo, Zhang Jinhong, Yuan Hao, and Peng Peng. Those from CERDS were Liu Xing, Zhang En, and Yi Huaihai.
