On March 13, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Yang Chengxin, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, and his delegation. Tian Wei, Party Group Member and Chief Accountant of China Minmetals, attended the meeting and held working talks with the delegation.
Chen Dexin extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He emphasized that Zhaotong boasts profound historical and cultural heritage with distinctive geographical advantages. The three counties under its jurisdiction - Zhenxiong, Yiliang, and Weixin - are paired assistance counties of China Minmetals. In recent years, the Corporation has fully implemented the General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on rural revitalization, leveraging its strengths in capital, talent, and technology to address Zhaotong's practical needs. Through targeted measures such as dispatching seconded cadres, industrial empowerment, educational support, and consumption-based assistance, China Minmetals has enhanced the quality and effectiveness of its assistance programs, thereby fulfilling its political and social responsibilities as a central SOE. Moving forward, China Minmetals will steadfastly implement the CPC Central Committee's decisions on rural revitalization, while exploring synergies between its core competencies in mineral resource development, real estate planning, and talent cultivation to help Zhaotong consolidate poverty alleviation achievements and achieve common prosperity.
Tian Wei highlighted the 20-year partner assistance, noting that the customized assistance projects have yielded remarkable outcomes. He reiterated China Minmetals' commitment to intensify support for Zhaotong's high-quality socioeconomic development.
Yang Chengxin expressed gratitude for China Minmetals' longstanding contributions to Zhaotong's progress. He proposed deepening collaboration in strategic mineral exploration, real estate development projects, and tourism industry integration, with a focus on transitioning from "aid provision" to "capacity-building" to foster sustainable development.
Liu Hekai and Li Weiqiang, Vice Mayors of Zhaotong City, along with department heads from China Minmetals' headquarters, directly-managed enterprises, and affiliated enterprises attended the meeting.
