On the morning of February 26, 2025, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with the delegation led by Chen Jinshan, Member of Standing Committee of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Lin-gang Special Area, and Director of the Management Committee of Lin-gang Special Area. The two sides held in-depth discussions on enhancing cooperation. Also present were Zhao Yihuai, Member of the Party Working Committee of Lin-gang Special Area and full-time Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Lin-gang Special Area, and Xu Jiqing, Party Group Member and Senior Vice President of China Minmetals.
Chen Dexin welcomed the delegation led by Chen Jinshan and thanked Shanghai and Lin-gang Special Area for their strong support for the long-term operation and development of local enterprises under China Minmetals. Besides, he briefly introduced the development course and basic status of China Minmetals. He pointed out that since its establishment in 1950, China Minmetals had always grown itself along with the country's development, kept in mind and practiced the original mission of "serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry", and shouldered the responsibility of ensuring the supply and security of national metal and mineral resources. With operations spanning over 60 countries and regions worldwide, the company now owns 9 listed subsidiaries and operates 39 mines both domestically and internationally. Its business system which is mainly composed of metals & minerals, metallurgical construction, high-tech industry, trade & logistics, and finance & real estate is subject to continuous transformation and upgrading. Besides, its high-quality development is showing a good momentum. He highlighted Lin-gang Special Area's role as a pilot zone of national significance for deepening reform and opening-up and noted its unique advantages in location, policy, and industrial ecosystems. He also proposed a hope that both sides would further enhance communications and expand the breadth and depth of cooperation in fields of international trade, engineering construction, finance, technology and digitalization to support China's strategic development goals.
Chen Jinshan expressed gratitude to China Minmetals for its sustained contributions to the development of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone and its socio-economic progress. He highlighted Lin-gang Special Area's strategic focus on international orientation, digital empowerment, and green-oriented leadership. He also noted that with its strengths in institutional innovation and talent attraction, Lin-gang Special Area was dedicated to fostering a more open and innovative environment so as to better support enterprises in expanding global operations and adapting to diverse operational scenarios. He hoped to further expand the cooperation space and adopt innovative approaches to cooperation with China Minmetals. In this regard, he made a commitment that Shanghai Municipality and Lin-gang Special Area would continue to provide support to local subsidiaries under China Minmetals and their relevant projects, for the purpose of advancing win-win cooperation and development.
Participants also included relevant leaders of Lin-gang Special Area and leaders of China Minmetals' head offices and directly-managed enterprises.
